Arizona Governor Brewer encourages U.S.-China energy cooperation (Alberta Times) Governor Brewer was recently interviewed by Voice of America. She encouraged Chinese companies and Arizona companies to strengthen cooperation in renewable energy, and also welcomed Chinese investment in Arizona. *Optimistic about the prospects of solar energy cooperation* In September this year, Governor Brewer led a number of officials and business people to visit several major cities in China. Brewer recently spoke to a VOA reporter after a conference discussing women's suffrage. She is optimistic about the prospects of U.S.-China renewable energy cooperation. Brewer said: "Our recent trip to China was very encouraging. We met many people and of course encouraged them to invest. Arizona is very famous for renewable energy, especially the solar industry. Arizona is designated as the Solar State, and I am called the Queen of Solar. Our trip to China is very important for the Chinese, American and Arizona business communities. If the two sides can cooperate, there will be very constructive results." Brewer recently published a new book called "Scorpions for Breakfast" (Scorpions for Breakfast) Breakfast) to defend America’s borders against special interests, the media and politicians. (By the way, Brewer said that he eats "scorpions for breakfast" to show how brave he is, how he is fearless in the face of challenges, and dares to do things that others dare not do. It is not like the Chinese who eat scorpions to cure diseases and strengthen their health.) *Immigration Policy and Chinese Investment* Arizona passed the most stringent immigration law in the United States, and Brewer was strongly criticized for this. Regarding the question from a VOA reporter, will this affect Chinese investment in Arizona? Brewer replied: "Arizona has always been open to investment, and we are doing everything we can to develop the local market in the global market. We welcome Chinese investment here, and some companies have already opened in Arizona. We will cooperate with these companies and make necessary reforms to increase productivity because they will bring job opportunities to the U.S. economy." Brewer once said in China that China is Arizona's third largest trading partner, and there are about 5,400 companies in Arizona with export business to China.
