The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service recently announced that Shamrock Foods is recalling 7,500 pounds of marinated chicken and marinated beef sold in the state due to improper labeling. The U.S. Department of Agriculture issued a notice on Friday saying that the marinated beef contained soy, wheat and sulfites, and the marinated chicken contained wheat, milk and sulfites. Sulfites are a known allergen. The production date of this batch of recalled meat is from December 1 to December 29, and it was sold to various supermarkets and restaurants across the state. One of the 10-pound bags was originally labeled Chicken Breasts and had identification number 2844671. The beef is packaged in 10-pound bags with identification number 3096311. The recall category is classified as pinch?#65292; meaning that the product can cause serious adverse health consequences. So far, no one has become ill from consuming these products. For recall issues, consumers can call Shamrock Foods 602-477-2401 Sandy Kelly or e-mail Sandy_Kelly@shamrockfoods.com
