At a rally held by Citizens for a Better Arizona, two Asian-American groups called on Sheriff Arpaio to resign. Deng Yanling, president of the Asian Chamber of Commerce, said on Tuesday, "We will join with our African-American and Latino brothers and sisters to demand Apao's resignation." "His entanglement with Hispanics, legal or illegal, shows that Apao has gone too far." Hirano, chairman of Asia Pacific Joint Action, said that many Asian Americans have recently moved out of the state because of racial conflicts, which is related to the police chief's strict law enforcement.
