A Phoenix mother was arrested after she tied her daughter to a bed and beat her after she learned she was talking to a man. According to a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, a 19-year-old Alhambra High School female student skipped school last Tuesday. School employees told her parents that the female student was talking to a man outside the school while she was skipping school. The victim told police her mother was so angry that she tied her to her bedroom bed with a rope and beat her with her hands and shoes. The girl was released the next day and allowed to attend school. She told others about the incident when she arrived at school and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital by the fire department. Police officers questioned the victim's mother at the hospital, and 50-year-old Yusra Farhan admitted that she tied up and beat her daughter. According to court records, Farhan said she hit her daughter with his hands and shoes because she was upset about her contact with a man. After confirming the crime, the officers tried to arrest Farhan. She began to resist and lay on the floor of the emergency room. Other members of Farhan's family also tried to prevent the officers from arresting her. The police officers finally subdued Farhan, put him into a patrol car and took him away. She faces charges of false imprisonment and aggravated assault. The victim also told police her father and adult sister also attacked her. The two family members also face charges of assault and interfering with a law enforcement officer.
