Foreclosure notification data rises in January (Alberta Times) Although foreclosure notifications in January were up 14 per cent from December, the data were still lower than a year ago. Foreclosure tracking company RealtyTrac said 4,400 homes in the state received foreclosure notices in January, but banks actually repossessed 4,350 of them. These figures are down 44% from the same period last year. Nevada has the highest foreclosure rate in the country, with one in every 198 homes receiving a foreclosure notice, California is second, and Arizona is third, with one in every 325 homes or apartments receiving a foreclosure notice. Still, the news is pretty good for Arizona. RealtyTrac said that in the last two months of 2011, about 4,300 properties accepted foreclosure applications. The highest number last year was 7,500 in one month.
