"Time" named annual influential people in the world, but Brewer did not make the list (Alberta Times) Recently, "Time" magazine selected "The 100 Most Influential People in 2012". Arizona Governor Jane Brewer, who was on the pre-selection list, did not make it to the final round of the list and failed to become the "100 Most Influential People in the World in 2012." Arizona, led by Republican Jen Brewer, challenged the federal government by passing immigration laws in 2010 that sparked national controversy and drew strong dissatisfaction among Hispanics. "Time" magazine selected Jane Brewer online as one of the "100 Most Influential People in 2012" because she was the first to sign an anti-immigration bill in the United States, leading several states across the country to follow suit. The voting results have come out. Only 26,174 people supported Jane Brewer and 26,603 voted against her. The editor responsible for this selection said she is not outstanding enough. Public figures on the "100 Most Influential People of 2012" list include President Obama, presidential candidate Ron Paul, singer Adele, and rising basketball star Jeremy Lin who became a national minority idol overnight. Gabrielle Giffords was a member of the 2011 list after being shot last year.
