China News Service, May 23 (Xinhua) According to foreign reports, the US state of Hawaii issued US President Obama's birth certificate to the chairman of the Arizona State Election Commission, ending a nearly three-month dispute between the two states.
Joshua Wisch, special assistant to the Hawaii Attorney General, said on the evening of the 22nd local time that the incident was resolved after the state of Hawaii showed Arizona the Obama birth certificate it had been looking for.
The state of Hawaii has repeatedly guaranteed that Obama was born in the state, but initially did not agree to Arizona's request for a birth certificate, causing disputes between the two states.
An Arizona spokesman said he had received the certificate and would comment on Wednesday (23rd).
Obama's birthplace continues to be questioned. The White House provided an electronic version of Obama's birth certificate in 2011 to confirm that Obama was indeed born in the United States.
On March 1 this year, Alpeo, a police chief in Arizona, USA, claimed that his investigation team found evidence that Obama’s American birth certificate was forged. Arpeo said his investigators believe the birth certificate provided by the White House may have been a directly manufactured electronic version of the document, rather than a scan of the actual birth certificate.
The U.S. Constitution stipulates that only those who were U.S. citizens by birth can serve as president. Skeptics who question Obama's birthplace are trying to use this point to deny Obama's presidential qualifications.
