Arizona State University student missing in Thailand, may have drowned (Alberta Times) A 21-year-old state university student, Joshua Shane He disappeared while swimming in Phuket late at night during a trip to Thailand organized by the school. The current was strong at that time, and the students who swam with him barely swam to the shore, but Joshua disappeared. The search and rescue efforts were abandoned and he was presumed dead. Joshua Shane went to Thailand to participate in a four-week study abroad course. He is a junior. Family members said he was interested in international social justice and sustainable global development. "The State University is deeply saddened by this incident and extends our sincere condolences to Joshua's family and friends," said Arizona Press Release Officer Julie Newberg.
