Arizona State University professor becomes new dean of University of Illinois at Chicago (Alberta Times) The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) has appointed a new dean of the School of Business Administration. The University of Illinois at Chicago announced Tuesday the hiring of Michael Hail, a professor in the College of Business and director of the School of Accountancy at Arizona State University. His appointment still requires approval by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. Under his leadership, ASU's School of Accountancy added ethics, accountability and professional introduction to its required freshman courses. Retention rates for freshmen attending their first year are significantly higher than the school average. Prior to Arizona State University, he served as an assistant professor and associate professor at Duke University's Graduate School of Business. He was also the Theodore Miller Career Development Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts Technical School of Management.
