Phoenix Zaomeisha Gateway Airport is located in the suburbs of Mesa City. It is a civilian airport converted from the retired Williams Air Force Base with the purpose of relieving the pressure of the increasingly saturated Phoenix Airport. Currently, there are two companies, Spirit Airlines and Allegiant Airlines, operating 33 domestic routes and Spirit Airlines operating 11 routes.
