The Tucson shooting murderer pleaded guilty and the judge set a sentencing date Federal District Court Judge Larry Burns released a message on Friday and raised the sentencing date for the Tucson shooting murderer to November 8. Jared Rovner attacked then-Congresswoman Giffords outside a Tucson supermarket in January 2011. The shooting ultimately killed six people and injured 12 others, shocking the United States. After his arrest, Rovner was sent to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation and treatment. During a trial in early August, Rovner pleaded guilty to 19 counts, including murder, and is expected to spend the rest of his life in prison without parole eligibility.
