Recently, the Gilbert Unified School District in the United States has unanimously agreed to expand the nearby foreign trade area, including Apple's sapphire factory. A week ago, two of the district's five board members disagreed with the plan. In the foreign trade zone, the real estate tax for the equipment Apple will purchase is 70% lower than the company’s annual real estate tax. Due to some of the potential impacts, every taxing organization in the area will be required to enter into an agreement.

It is reported that an Apple spokesperson has told the regional board of directors that if they do not pass the foreign trade zone proposal, they will consider moving the factory to other states. After all, there are still many states working hard to obtain this agreement.
