A strong happy lineup You don’t know if you don’t taste it - a trip to the Golden Water Lake of the Science and Engineering College (picture) In early August, the sun is still scorching hot in Phoenix, but the breeze is blowing in Prescott, which is cool and pleasant. Turn from Highway 69 onto the mountain road leading to Goldwater Lake. The undulating mountains and green trees on the roadside completely block the scorching sun. Arriving at the lakeside, the beautiful scenery of Jinshui Lake's lakes and mountains dazzles Phoenix visitors who spend all day surrounded by cacti in Nanshan Park and the red boulders of Camel Mountain. On August 7, an outing carefully organized by the Arizona Branch of the Chinese Association of Scientists and Engineers (Science and Engineering College) kicked off at the edge of Jinshui Lake. It is said that this event has a strong lineup, with nearly 40 people signing up to participate. At 10 a.m., applicants started arriving one after another. Everyone helped each other move the carefully marinated barbecue, sausages, cold dishes, various fruits, and drinks to the barbecue spot by the lake in the park. The "descendant" of the famous beverage "Wang Lao Kat" brought a large can of herbal tea prepared with 24 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine for everyone to drink. After a short rest, as event organizer AMOY Yang blew a whistle, 30-40 Chinese people, carrying four strong or cute dogs, set off along the mountain road. The mountain is not steep, but there is water along the way, so everyone is very interested. The journey along the way was more like walking than hiking. New friends we had just met and old friends we had not seen for many days found the relaxation and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle and the scorching heat in the green mountains and rivers. Bimei: Are we more beautiful or is the scenery more beautiful? The barbecue at noon is another lively scene. Juicy hot dogs, sausages, and large pieces of juicy watermelon make people temporarily give up the idea of losing weight and eat as much as they want. The most popular one is of course the kimchi carefully made by Amoy Yang. When he saw the bowl full of kimchi being swept away by everyone, Amoy started his "bragging" activity that he had done once in several months. After vividly describing the feats of various Chinese restaurant owners in Phoenix who were obedient to him, with diners parking at their party occupying three blocks, he publicly "promised" the next meal to everyone. Organizer Amoy Yang, first from right: "I think of Pary in my family back then..." The after-dinner science and engineering gathering was held in a large wooden house by the lake. The participants first introduced themselves. Among the people participating in the event, there were engineers, violinists, accountants, students, etc. It can be seen that the event carefully organized by the Science and Technology College was not only welcomed by engineers and their families, but also attracted Chinese people from all walks of life. Xu Qiang, chairman of the College of Science and Technology, expressed his feelings and emphasized the importance and necessity of unity and mutual assistance in the Chinese community through some real-life examples. Xu Qiang, chairman of the College of Science and Technology, spoke: "Unity is important, happiness is even more important..." At the end of the meeting, the organizers of the event made preliminary plans for the next event based on everyone's suggestions. The next activity that will be held in the near future can be expressed in the humorous language of a woman, "hiking together during the day and sleeping together at night. Camping." The author sincerely thanks the organizers of the Science and Technology College for their hard work in organizing this outdoor activity. I hope that like-minded friends in Phoenix will come to support the Science and Engineering College and join the Science and Engineering College. Activity participant: "Happy come with us..."
