A grand cocktail party attended by city officials and more than 200 people from all walks of life was held at the Copper Blues Hotel in the center of Fengcheng at 6 pm on the 14th of January to bid farewell to former city councilor Mr. Mattox for successfully completing his term of work. Mayor Phil Gordon and the incoming new mayor Greg Stanton delivered speeches respectively, commending and thanking Mr. Mattox for his hard work and contribution to the work. Mr. Mattox gave a reply, and everyone raised their glasses in applause and blessings.

Then the host announced that three representatives from the US-China Cultural and Art Exchange Association, Ms. Gu Yayu, Mr. Li Cheng and Mr. Chen Zhigang, would present a horse painting by the painter Mr. Li Cheng (also known as Mr. Fan Rong) to Mr. Mattox, and wished him immediate success and greater glories. Mr. Mattox was very happy to shake hands with the three representatives one by one and gave a speech to express his heartfelt thanks.
