Southwest Youth Dance Troupe successfully performed (photo) (Special reporter Wang Shuai reported) Gilbert, Arizona- “It was very well!” This is what we heard most from the audience. On the afternoon of December 18, the Southwest Youth Ballet Theatre, led by the famous Chinese ballet dancer Chen Yanli, also successfully concluded their second performance at the Higley Center of Performing Arts. This was also one of the Southwest Youth Ballet Theater's "Fifth Anniversary Celebration" series of performances this season. Ms. Chen Yanli was born in Taiwan, China. She began to study ballet at the age of 15. She entered the American professional ballet dance group in 1990 and served as the principal dancer of Ballet Arizona for 12 years. After her retirement in 2006, Ms. Chen Yanli established the Southwest Youth Ballet and served as the artistic director. As a classic Western ballet, it is arranged by the Russian composer Tchaikovsky and is very suitable for performance during the Christmas season. We have also seen many parents bringing their children to watch it. It tells the story of a little girl who got a Christmas toy in the shape of an army officer. The little girl had a wonderful dream in which the Nutcracker came to life and became a handsome prince. After the victory, he took the little girl to visit the candy kingdom. As a musical fairy tale, its plot is light and festive and suitable for the whole family to watch. The Nutcracker > Scene 1 The Nutcracker > Scene 2 The Nutcracker > Scene 3 The Nutcracker > Scene 4 As a ballet dancer who grew up under the influence of Chinese culture and received professional education in the West, Ms. Chen Yanli strives to present the original version to the audience. As Jason, a former professional dancer, said, "The dance choreographed by Ms. Chen retains the essence of this Western classic, even though it was only established for a short period of five or six years." But both in terms of cooperation with a live symphony orchestra (the Chandler Symphony Orchestra is responsible for the music) and in terms of artistic standards, it has reached a very high level. "The Nutcracker> Scene 5. The play was staged this time in two acts and lasted two hours. Many audiences were still unfinished after the end. Although they could not repay the audience with an encore like a symphony piece. But the same long-lasting and warm applause should be the best compliment to Ms. Chen Yanli and all the members of the troupe who worked hard to rehearse the performance. The satisfied audience returned
