Chairman Ma Ying-jeou’s letter of thanks to overseas organizations and support associations (picture) Dear advanced comrades in overseas regions and friends from support associations: Hello everyone! Thank you all! This time on January 14, we won the combined election of the 13th President, Vice President and Legislators of the Republic of China. As I reported to the people in the heavy rain on the night of counting the votes, this was not a victory for Ma Ying and the nine people, but a victory for the Taiwanese people! On behalf of the people, I also affirm my efforts to reject corruption and maintain integrity. I will definitely not disappoint everyone's expectations. I will pay more attention to the people's feelings and promise to go all out and never stop until I achieve my goals! I will use my life to defend the sovereignty of the Republic of China, the dignity of the people, and the security of Taiwan, and fight for Taiwan to the end in my life! Dear advanced comrades from overseas regions and friends from support associations, thank you very much for traveling thousands of miles from overseas regions to come back to vote, or to participate in overseas campaign groups and various local election campaigning activities, and work together for the safety and happiness of Taiwan and the sustainable development of the Republic of China. In the next four years, cross-Strait relations will be more harmonious, with fewer opportunities for conflict, and opportunities for interaction with other countries around the world will be expanded, allowing the people of Taiwan to walk with grace and respect in the world. Thank you all again. We will work harder, deeply review and improve, and continue to move forward with gratitude and humility! I would like to express my best wishes to you and your family for peace and happiness. Yours sincerely, Ma Ying-jeou. January 20, 101, Republic of China.
