At 7:30 pm on January 27, 2012, Fengcheng Chinese Christian Church held a grand "New Year Celebration Meeting" in the church auditorium. The Spring Festival is a festival for us Chinese to celebrate the New Year. On this day, everyone working outside must rush home to reunite with their relatives before New Year's Eve. Most of us overseas Chinese gather with a few relatives and friends to celebrate the Chinese New Year. This year, the Fengcheng Chinese Christian Church held this "New Year Celebration Special", which is of far-reaching significance. The first is to relieve everyone's pain of homesickness, pass on Chinese culture, and more importantly, thank God for His grace, which really entrusts us with our New Year, New Year, and new hope. A joyful and peaceful "New Year party" has inspired people's hope for life! For the evening party at 7:30 p.m., members of the congregation started arriving at 7 o'clock, and it was already full by 7:15. The church also opened a second venue, where performers and cast members vacated their seats, and church members also gave up their seats and invited new guests to come in and take their seats. Three people were squeezed into the two seats. Even so, the back of the hall was still full of enthusiastic spectators, about a thousand or more people. The party started on time at 7:30, with the song and dance of "Happily Ever After" that inspired the fellowship, and the atmosphere of joy filled the venue. The Alberta Chinese Chorus and the Sunshine Children's Chorus sang three songs: Descendants of the Dragon, Walking in the Snow to Seek Plum Blossoms and Happy New Year, which made people feel particularly warm. Pastor Yang has a short sermon, telling everyone the story of "Ye Gong loves dragons", warning us not to be like dragons like Ye Gong, but don't understand dragons and are afraid of dragons. If we want to get the blessings of the gospel, it is impossible to understand God. Therefore, we need to read the Bible often and understand God’s love for us and God’s will, so as to truly get the blessings of the gospel. Ye Qingqing's piano performance makes people immersed in the beautiful piano sound that is sometimes melodious and sometimes exciting. The male duet sang "My New Year" to a professional level. They bid farewell to the past year and also sang inspiration and hope for the new year. The dance "Golden Peacock and Auspicious Ballads" performed by children from the church's Chinese school showed the children's innocent, happy and lively life. The female solo "Hometown is Beijing" sang out the sincere love and infinite longing of the Chinese overseas for Beijing, the capital of the motherland. The pipa solo "Yi Dance, Rose" allows people to appreciate the beautiful music of the Malay sisters playing the pipa and their superb skills.

Brother Chen Zhigang's Sichuan Opera "Face Changing" is even more praised and applauded. In the past, when watching "Face Changing", the actors had to turn around to change, but Chen Zhigang's face changing, in full view of the public, changed into another face in an instant, and he changed six masks in just a few minutes. Peking opera a cappella "Shajiabang", Jiang Yingzi, Yuan Yingyu's sword skills, Yuan Xiyi's solo dance "Good Day", Gu Yayu's solo "Tianlu - Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Suite" and four men's dance "Snow Mountain Ode", between all programs Different hosts used special words to connect the transitions, which was very creative. The entire party was very popular and brought great joy to the congregation. The party was filled with bursts of applause, laughter and cheers. At the end, the congregation sang "We Become a Family". The party ended with the song "People".

After the party, everyone poured into the social hall, where church staff spent two days preparing a rich variety of refreshments for the congregation, including Cantonese dim sum, northern snacks, Shandong snacks, dessert fruits and many hot porridge, tea and drinks. While enjoying the delicious desserts and drinks, the congregants chatted about the entertainment program they had just finished watching. The brothers and sisters of the church also took this opportunity to preach the gospel to the invited seekers and introduce the purpose and beliefs of our Fengcheng Chinese Christian Church. It was not until about 10:30 in the evening that the congregants went home reluctantly and happily. Thank God for giving us the blessing of being able to celebrate the Chinese New Year in a foreign country. We really had a colorful, joyful and peaceful Spring Festival Gala that was different. We not only enjoyed the entertainment programs, but also preached the salvation of Jesus Christ on the cross!
