(Editor's note) At a certain time, in a certain space, we are here, Arizona, USA. Some people have stayed, and some have returned from overseas. In time At the intersection of space and space, there are many stories composed of minutes and seconds. In the Sunbird Asia Chinese Network, we see Zhang Zhaohong, Qi Ruhong, Wen Ruo, Huiming, Fengming, Xinshui and many other old overseas Chinese recording their lives in words. First of all, we would like to thank them for their records, which allow us to see the growth footprint of a generation of immigrants. "Sunbird" columnist Wang Jingyu wrote the novel "Phoenix Prisoner" based on the true story of a woman living in Phoenix City.

Dao Zi did not expect that my English was so bad. We used body language to gesture hard at each other, but it still didn't help. He was helpless when faced with a beautiful mute. Only then did I realize the importance of communication. We played the piano against each other in the hotel. A few hours later, Daozi took me into the mall and bought a quick translation. Dao Zi found that he could speak freely again, and the audience was his beloved bird-like Chinese girl. He was as excited as a child.

The first sentence Daozi sent to me through the express was: I like you very much, and I hope you can give me a chance to take good care of you in the future. It seemed that he had been holding back these words for a long time. When he looked down at me tenderly with a blushing face, my heart skipped a beat, as if a feather was gently brushing against my wound. He handed me the quick translation sincerely and waited for my answer.

I thought for a moment, and then typed a string of words: I like you too, but I need to get to know you.

Daozi nodded and said, I have the patience to let you fully understand me. So where would you most like to travel?

>Lijiang. I wanted to tell him that every time I fell in love, I wanted to go there, but I didn’t say that. I said, I heard that it was a good place and the closest to heaven.

Then go there first. Hawaii in the United States is also the place closest to paradise. I will take you to Hawaii in the future. Daozi typed the letters intently, then raised his hand to show me. He said, I have ten days of vacation, and we can plan a few days in Lijiang.

I smiled slightly and nodded in approval.

Kuaiyi Tong has warmed up our relationship little by little, and we plan to go to Yunnan in three days. I was looking forward to this trip, but I was also a little nervous. Everything was full of drama, and I found that I was getting closer and closer to Hua Zi's thoughts. For an uneducated country girl with nothing, using adventure and seeking excitement to describe it was too monotonous and shallow, although I also like adventure. The only difference between me and my sister is that I still have enough time to face the challenges of the unknown future, and such challenges require a price. I think at this moment, I am mentally prepared.

Our real relationship started in Lijiang.

Before Lijiang, Daozi searched a lot of information about Lijiang from Google, such as local maps, historical sites in Lijiang and Dali, the altitude and temperature of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the customs and culture of ethnic minorities, and of course hotels. He printed out the information, then classified it, read it several times, and then carefully put it in the suitcase. He told me to bring some warm clothes because the temperature on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was low and there was snow. By the time we set off, he knew every detail of the place. I couldn't help but be in awe of him, and I was unconvinced by the first promise he made.

In fact, traveling is a luxury for me. I never dare to expect to go out for fun. My original ideal was to earn money, eat, sleep, find a good man and have a warm home, work hard when I was young, and have grandchildren when I am old. I think most people’s ideals are similar to mine—to live an honest life. So I went to Lijiang out of nowhere, forcing the romance of rich and idle people on myself to "coax" foreigners. I didn't expect Dao Zi to be so serious, and it made me feel ashamed. I thought I could at least pretend to be a cultured and romantic girl, and fly around among the flowers like a butterfly to experience the beauty of life.

I told myself to do this. Life is really beautiful, but I have encountered a few setbacks. These setbacks are nothing in a person's life. A person's life always faces many ups and downs, but life still has to go on. When I thought about it this way, my mood suddenly became much brighter. I started my romantic trip to Lijiang in such a relaxed situation.

When I arrived in Lijiang, I realized that I was wrong. For a person like me who is so exhausted, I couldn't appreciate its beauty. In my eyes, the houses there are older, the clothes are more unique, and there are houses with small bridges and flowing water everywhere. The high and low polished stone roads are crowded with pedestrians, and the shops on both sides are filled with local trinkets and Dongba handicraft wooden plates. Daozi was attracted by these small things with strong national cultural flavor. He was not stingy with his words of praise. When he praised them, he completely entered a state of selflessness. He wished he could move the whole city back, and I became his foil.

On the third day, the trip to Lijiang took a turn, and I encountered my first romantic proposal in my life. This unforgettable experience started with Daozi’s suit.

Daozi got up early that morning. After washing, he went to the next room to wake me up. I opened my sleepy eyes and saw him standing in front of me in a suit and ties, with a serious smile on his face. I was startled by his formal attire. I stared at his suit for more than ten seconds, thinking that some important meeting was waiting for me, so I quickly packed it up and followed him out the door.

We followed the flow of people and boarded a bus. After the bus started, I started to look at everyone inside carefully. I found that except for Daozi, everyone was wearing comfortable casual clothes. They were chatting leisurely and happily. And Daozi, in addition to suits and leather shoes, also wore a pair of well-kept leather shoes. The shiny leather shoes reflected my shadow strangely on them, which looked extremely awkward. He didn't speak, but still had a strangely serious look on his face. His eyes were staring straight ahead nervously, but they were not there. He seemed to be staring at something that didn't exist somewhere far away. It was really different from the free and easy look of the previous few days. I felt that things were getting more and more strange, and I thought, I've only known him for a few days, he wouldn't sell me out just because I'm a fake, right? The more I thought about it, the more uneasy I felt. Finally I couldn't bear it anymore, so I stood up and asked him, are we going to a meeting?

Dao Zi was puzzled and looked at me with wide eyes. Then I remembered that he didn’t understand Chinese. I gestured desperately with my hands, and in my desperation I forgot to translate it quickly.

After a girl next to me who was about the same age helped me translate, he also gestured to me desperately, waved his hands anxiously, and said, No, No.

Now I was even more uneasy. My face must have changed, blood and sweat were rushing to my head. I said, I want to get off the car. Daozi looked at me in confusion. I gestured and pointed my finger out the window, my attitude became more determined, and I said, I want to get off the car.

Daozi understood this time. He looked out the window. The car was driving fast on the hillside and there was no one on the road. He asked me using a Chinese sentence he had just learned, why?

Daozi immediately noticed that there was a problem between us, and he quickly gave me the quick translation. I angrily typed a line above: Where are we going? You never told me, I ran with you like a fool, and I didn't know you sold me.

My seriousness made Daozi laugh. He pulled me towards the seat, held my hand and gently placed it on his chest, and then shook it a few times to reassure me. Then he hugged me and gently stroked my hair. When his hand gently stroked my face back and forth, I finally calmed down.

The car was parked at the foot of a mountain. Cars of all sizes crowded the simple parking lot. Someone in the crowd was shouting excitedly. I looked in the direction of the finger. A mountain with a high altitude and full of snow blocked my sight. The tour guide of the tour group shouted excitedly through the loudspeaker: Comrades, pay attention, the legendary Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is right in front of us, please take a look - -. The speech was impassioned, like a speech. I fled a few meters away and followed her hand. The smoky Jade Dragon Snow Mountain seemed to have just been awakened by the loudspeaker. The fog began to evaporate. After a while, the place as far as the eye could see turned into a vast expanse of white. I thought to myself, luckily Daozi was smart and decided to go out with the tour group this time. There was nothing romantic about this sudden surprise.

We lined up to get on the ropeway, Dao Zai held my hand tightly. His palms were very hot, sweaty and sticky. I looked up at him, and his face was red from suppressing it. When his cheeks were red, he looked like a kind and lovely Santa Claus. But his smile looked less kind now, and the muscles on his face were so stiff that those who saw him felt stomach cramps. I suddenly had a very strange and adventurous thought: He brought me into his world with his smile, but will it stop there? Where will he take me?

As the cable car continued to climb, we stood face to face. Another elderly couple sat there and stared at the scenery passing by in front of them. Their eyes were empty and distant, as if they were asleep with their eyes wide open. We became redundant there. They gave me enough time and courage to look at Rice carefully. Rice didn't take it seriously. He seemed to be waiting for something. He always glanced over my head in a fixed posture to look at the top of the mountain. But the closer he got to his destination, the closer his face pressed against my head, until I couldn't look at him anymore.

When we reached the top of the mountain, the dense fog dissipated a bit, but we could still only see clearly within a few meters. There was nothing but dazzling white snow on the mountain. The shouts of a group of businessmen broke the silence of the snow-capped mountains. However, for me, my interest is far from these. I have been wondering about rice's unusual behavior all day long.

Daozi followed me closely. He took out a thick floral cotton-padded jacket (which I brought from the countryside a few years ago) from his carry-on bag and put it on me. He also added a cashmere sweater to his suit. He put his suit back on and tied his tie meticulously. From time to time, he looked worriedly at the fog not far away. I thought it must be fog. Several tourists around him had similar worries to him. He also looked at me from time to time, and my stomach visibly cramped when he looked at me. I wanted to leave this cold place quickly, but Daozi had no intention of doing so. We took a few photos at the observation deck, and he seemed to find fun in taking photos of tourists who couldn't take group photos. He enjoyed it endlessly, and the muscles on his face slowly relaxed amidst the laughter of the tourists.

There are many tourists coming and going on the mountain, most of them just take a few photos and then leave. The blond rice with blue eyes became the center of attention on the top of the mountain because of his enthusiasm for taking photos. His popularity exceeded that of this snow-capped mountain that gave people unlimited beautiful reverie. He has even become the target of people taking photos and group photos. Every time someone takes a photo with him, he straightens his neck and makes various faces and postures, and his smile always looks so sincere and kind. I looked at him and thought, the hearty laughter appeared on his face again.

Oh my god, one meter of sunshine. Someone in the crowd screamed.

This sentence attracted everyone's attention. I know that many people here, including me, have no idea about the legend of one meter of sunshine in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. People's curiosity was caused by this scream. Indeed, I don’t know when the fog dissipated, and the sun penetrated the thick clouds and cast a thin layer on the top of the mountain. Although it is only a thin layer, it looks particularly dazzling and warm under the cool white snow.

Daazi walked up to me and knelt down on one knee. He magically took out an exquisite maroon jewelry box from his suit pocket. The lid of the box had been opened beforehand, and a bright diamond ring appeared in front of me. This dazzling light drew an arc in the air and stopped in front of my eyes. I was startled. My first instinctive reaction was: What does he want to do? I really don't know what he wants to do. I have never seen this kind of attitude, but I know what the ring means. I soon realized that this kind of romantic proposal had really happened to me. For a moment, I felt smug that I had finally put on the glass slippers, but then I couldn't help but sigh: This all happened too fast, and I had doubts about his behavior just now.

>Marry me. Rice said in broken Chinese in my panic.

Everyone started to make noises. Some people had already established a relationship with Daozi because of the photo shoot. Some people felt that if such a romantic proposal was rejected, then the rare meter of sunshine would be wasted. What does one meter of sunshine mean? People believe that those who are illuminated by this sunshine can have everlasting love. The reason why Daozi arranged it so carefully is probably because he is well versed in it. So when they heckled me, the most common thing they said was asking me to hurry up and put out my finger.

I looked at Daozi, and the muscles on Daozi's face were squeezed together nervously. He was waiting anxiously for the answer. I understand him now. Once he gets a satisfactory answer, the muscles on his face will immediately stretch out happily, and he will smile like a sunflower, blooming particularly brightly in the sun.

Rice finally got his wish. Although there was a moment of hesitation, in this extraordinary period, I could not find a reason to refuse. On a noon in early autumn when the sun and the moon shine together, Daozi, wearing a crisp suit and a red tie and leather shoes, jumps happily between stones. Every time he jumps, his golden hair rises beautifully. The golden hair is particularly dazzling under the one meter of sunlight. He is as happy as a child.

Everything was so sudden and dramatic.
