On July 28, 2012, Chinese-American Huang Xinmin from Taiwan held a Chinese solidarity dinner at Fengcheng Restaurant in Chandler, hoping that the local Chinese would support his candidacy for Chandler City Councilor. More than a hundred people attended the dinner that night. Deng Chaoju, chairman of the Chinese support group who supported Huang Xinmin's candidacy, and Chinese representatives Dai Xuezheng and Zhang Jingling took the stage to speak. State Assemblyman Bill Gates also supported Huang Xinmin's candidacy. They hope that Huang Xinmin can successfully run and represent the voice of the Chinese. Huang Xinmin holds a PhD in Comparative Education from the State University of New York and came to Phoenix five years ago. He stood for responsible government, economic opportunity, and quality of life. Refuse to increase the tax burden, do not waste people's money, and improve the quality of public services. Unify the interests of ethnic minorities with those of Westerners. Among his many plans, one of them is closely related to the interests of us Chinese. That is Chinese education for children. He has a plan to open a school to provide bilingual education to children in the future. Students have to take two hours of Chinese classes every day, so that children can master the communication tools of China and the United States, two powerful countries in the world. He said that Chinese Americans are all very outstanding individuals, and he just hopes that he can unite these outstanding forces. Chandler is one of the areas with the highest concentration of Chinese in the greater Phoenix area. The diverse ethnic representatives will definitely balance the power of the government and can analyze the interests of different ethnic groups and make optimal decisions. That night, the Chinese unity dinner was hosted by Zhang Huafang and Zheng Hong. Chinese friends chanted slogans and wished Huang Xinmin on his election. Zhang Jingling said that she was very pleased to see Huang Xinmin running for election, because she has lived in Arizona for a long time, and there are not many Chinese Americans actively participating in politics. The voices of Chinese Americans are often drowned. She hopes that we Chinese can come together to support Huang Xinmin and prove our strength with actions. Whether you are a citizen of Chandler or not, you can support Huang Xinmin in your own way. For example, he called his friends to inform him to vote for him, distributed leaflets, put up campaign signs in his yard, invited Huang Xinmin to family gatherings, allowing him to get in touch with more friends, etc. All U.S. citizens and residents of Chandler have the right to vote. The first general election is on August 28. Online voter registration: servicearizona.com-voter registration
