[Contribution from the National Association of Chinese Schools] After contacting President Liao of the National Association of Chinese Schools and the China Overseas Exchange Association, the China Overseas Exchange Association sent two lecture groups to various parts of the United States to train Chinese school teachers in August this year. The members of the lecture team have just completed their training courses in various places and have returned to mainland China on August 27. This time, the China Overseas Exchange Association has made long-term preparations and hired famous education teachers from various places. The two groups of lecture group professors come from Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Nanjing Normal University and Jinan University respectively. Training courses include Chinese cultural topics, Chinese teaching methods and children's teaching psychology. All teachers who participated in all training courses received training certificates issued by the China Overseas Exchange Association. The lecturers in Arizona are Professor Ge Jianxiong of Fudan University, Professor Zhu Zhiping and Professor Yao Meilin of Beijing Normal University. They stayed in Arizona for a week during the hot summer season and held three days of lectures in Phoenix and Tucson. More than 140 people attended the lectures, including teachers and school administrators from eight Chinese schools in the state and some parents who were interested in training courses. Many teachers who teach Chinese in full-time schools also participated in this training course. More than 80 teachers in the Phoenix area have signed up, and some parents and Chinese from the local community who are interested in the course also come to attend the class. The course on Thursday, August 16, was scheduled in the evening. Many teachers came to attend the class after get off work. They were deeply impressed and inspired by Professor Yao Meilin's "Psychological Laws of Children's Learning and the Wisdom of Education." On the morning of Sunday, August 19, Professor Ge Jianxiong taught "Revival and Construction of Chinese Culture", and Professor Zhu Zhiping taught "Chinese Word Teaching and Its Methods". That day, almost all the classroom with more than 100 seats was occupied by lecturers. Teachers who attended the class said that the courses taught by Professor Zhu Zhiping were very inspiring and practical for future Chinese teaching. There are also teachers who specially brought the "Learn Chinese with Me" textbook edited by Professor Zhu Zhiping to take photos with Professor Zhu. Senior Professor Ge Jianxiong just finished his lectures in the Czech Republic and rushed to Seattle to start giving lectures, and then rushed to Arizona to give lectures. His unique and incisive viewpoints and lofty analysis benefited the audience a lot. After listening to the class, some Chinese school leaders and teachers expressed their admiration for the hard work attitude and professionalism of the professors in the lecture group.
