The written examination of the "First Overseas Chinese Youth Chinese Culture Competition" was successfully held in Tucson. Graphic report by Chen Rongji, principal of Zusun Chinese School. In the city of Tucson on the southwest border of the United States, although the Chinese account for less than one percent of the city's total population, and including the Chinese students studying at the University of Arizona, the total number of Chinese is only a few thousand, but there is a strong Chinese cultural atmosphere, and activities related to Chinese culture continue all year round. Since September, there have been many activities in the Chinese community in Tucson, including the Chinese Culture Festival, Chinese Health Day, Chinese Martial Arts Day, Poetry Recital, Chinese Language Day, and Mid-Autumn Festival Concert. Teachers and students of Chinese schools actively participated in these activities. In mid-October, the Chinese school also performed a special performance at the Tucson Meet Yourself festival. These activities greatly affected the students' preparation for this competition. What's more serious is that the local middle school has some important activities and competitions on the weekend of October 27, which makes it impossible for some registered students to come to participate. Despite the difficulties, the competition at the Tucson test center was still held at the cultural center as scheduled, and students from two Chinese schools participated in the written test. Below is a photo report of the Tucson test center. A student at the Tucson test center of the 2012 First Overseas Chinese Youth Chinese Culture Knowledge Competition is taking a written test. She achieved good results in the 3rd Chinese Culture Knowledge Competition and will do better this time.
