New Oriental Early Childhood Education parent training class is in progress. New Oriental Art School has become one of the U.S. government early childhood education training units (reported by "Sunbird" Qiu Xiang) FTF project leader CONRAD LINDO, training teacher ASU doctoral candidate Ms. Rachel Lam, New Oriental Art School principal Lu Lihua and many teachers held a working meeting on October 18, 2002 at 6:30-8:30 pm. After more than two months of preparation, the "New Oriental Cultural Forum" early childhood education parent training class was officially launched on New Oriental campus. The first lecture was held that night. A total of more than 20 people participated in this training, including parents and expectant parents, as well as teachers currently engaged in early childhood education. This project is one of the early childhood education promotion projects of the Arizona State Government's "FIRST THINGS FIRST (FTF)" project, and is carried out by New Oriental Art School in cooperation with "NEW DIRECTION" College. Early childhood education parent training classes have received great attention from the Arizona state government. Before the class started that day, Mr. CONRAD LINDO, the person in charge of the MARICOPA district of the project of the Ministry of Education of the state government, came to the New Oriental Art School and held talks with Ms. Rachel Lam, the main training teacher, and the principal of New Oriental, Lu Lihua, and several preschool teachers for more than an hour. Mr. CONRAD LINDO introduced the main content and funding sources of the FTF project, as well as its promotion in various parts of the state. Parent Early Education Classroom Site A project called FTF is affiliated with the Arizona Department of Education, and its funds come from tobacco product taxes. It is mainly used for early education and health services for children aged 0? in the state. NEW DIRECTION College is chaired by Dr. Jill Stamm, a famous contemporary early childhood education expert in the United States and ASU professor. The early childhood education parent training class held at New Oriental was mainly taught by Rachel Lam, a student of Dr. Jill Stamm and a doctoral candidate at ASU. Previously, Dr. Jill Stamm had given a popular lecture on early childhood education in New Oriental, attracting many parents. This early education training will be more systematic and in-depth based on the previous popularization lecture. It is expected to last for two months, with a total of 20 teaching hours, and the lectures will be held in ten sessions. The training teachers will mainly train parents in many aspects such as children's safety, talking, reading, humming, playing, caressing, visual stimulation, behavioral control, etc. to help parents complete the education of preschool children and prepare their children for school. It is understood that since the FTF project was launched in 2006, the state has spent US$274 million on early childhood education and health services for children aged 0-5 in the state. More than 65,000 infant and child care workers and parents in Arizona's major hospitals, libraries, schools and preschools have received training through the NEW DIRECTION Academy. New Oriental Art School is the first unit in the Chinese community in the state to cooperate with the state government's FTF project and receive financial support. It is also the only minority group other than Hispanics to cooperate with the project. Mr. CONRAD LINDO of the state government believes that the parent early education training conducted in New Oriental is of far-reaching significance to the implementation and promotion of the state government's FTF project.
