(Alberta Times report Qingbao) At 1:30 pm on February 16, more than 200 philanthropists came to the Tzu Chi Phoenix Liaison Office with grateful hearts to participate in New Year prayers. The event started with the three hearing ceremonies to the Buddha and Bodhisattvas led by Citao, the head of Tzu Chi Liaison Office in Phoenix City.

In recent years, there have been constant natural and man-made disasters, and the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind are out of harmony. Tzu Chi people are closely connected with love and went to rescue activities such as typhoons and floods in 2012. This kind of love footprint of Tzu Chi people has traveled to 71 countries and regions. In the hardest-hit areas, while others escaped, Tzu Chi people walked in, regardless of race, to help the victims rebuild their homes, distribute food and supplies, and set up hospitals and schools, etc., regardless of race. The camera recorded their efforts in 2012 and shared them with everyone at the event. I hope everyone will cherish a happy life and give their love to those in need. Just like the small bamboo tube everyone brought back to Tzu Chi that day, as long as you save the change, you may be able to bring a piece of bread and a glass of milk to the children in the disaster area. The children of Tzu Chi Advanced Class, as well as the senior sisters and brothers of Tzu Chi staff, brought blessings to everyone by singing in sign language, and also told the adults about the good habits of environmental protection and eating more vegetarian food. Tzu Chi guides everyone to improve their small living habits so that they can enjoy their own happiness and help others.

Distributing blessing and wisdom red envelopes is the most anticipated moment in every event. Every red envelope is filled with the Master’s immeasurable gratitude and blessings. This year everyone is going to the Sutra Collection to practice great repentance, and the blessing and wisdom red envelopes are also designed in this spirit. The Master hopes that all people in the world will promote environmental protection and promote humanities. Although the Master could not attend the blessing in person and had Brother Wei Zhong and Sister Citao handing out red envelopes, the Master gave instructions and blessings through the screen. Finally, more than 200 members of the congregation lit their heart lanterns, raised their eyebrows high, and prayed in unison for purification of people's hearts, good weather, and a peaceful and auspicious year of blessing and wisdom in the coming year.
