The annual National Duck Stamp Painting Competition is a painting competition organized by the Department of the Interior legislated by the U.S. Congress. Its purpose is mainly to promote the protection of the natural environment and education. Each state selects the best winner in March each year, and then conducts the final nationwide competition. In addition to receiving a $5,000 prize, the best national winner will also have their work printed on a U.S. stamp for circulation.
