(News from this website) More than 200 guests from the legal profession were welcomed at the Ruby Restaurant on April 11. They dressed up to attend the 17th Arizona Asian Law Association Scholarship Awards and Fundraising Dinner. Association Chairman Kang Mingyi, Alberta's first Chinese female judge Deng Zhouyading, Chinese lawyers Dai Xuezheng, Huang Xiuli, Wu Zhaowen, etc. all came to the scene to congratulate the Asian law students.
The dinner officially started at 7pm. Chairman Kang Mingyi first welcomed all the legal professionals. He used dialectical logic to introduce the role of the Asian Legal Association in the industry. He said that in Arizona, many people regard Chinese and Indians as ethnic minorities. This is not wrong, but from a global perspective, Chinese and Indians are the largest ethnic groups. Majority and minority are just relative concepts, and the Asian Law Association is not an organization of ethnic minorities. It is an organization that accepts ethnic diversity with a tolerant concept. Regardless of whether you are Asian or not, as long as you accept the concept of diverse ethnic groups, we can work together and develop markets together.

Every year, the Asian Legal Association continues its tradition of inviting a very special guest speaker. Last year, it was Mr. Li Changyu, a Chinese-American detective who gave a wonderful speech. This year we invited Mr. Mike Kim, an expert on North Korea. Mr. Kim is a frequent guest on CNN and the BBC discussing North Korea. His book "Escape from North Korea" tells the story of his experience in giving up his economic support in the United States in 2003, leaving China, living on the border of North Korea, and helping many North Koreans escape North Korea and seek refuge in China. He provided many humanitarian aids to North Korean refugees. Mr. Kim placed special emphasis on the escape and protection of North Korean women. Of course, there are also personal experiences of women being trafficked. He hopes that more international organizations can join in humanitarian relief work. Mr. Jin’s book reflects the rescue process and also reflects the situation in North Korea in the most realistic way. He brought three books for a live auction, and the proceeds were used as bursaries for the Asian Law Association. Guests donated generously, and each book was successfully sold for more than $120.
