(Contributed by the Chinese Senior Citizens Association) In early November, the Phoenix City Chinese Senior Citizens Association held a plenary council meeting to discuss matters related to the annual election. In accordance with the articles of association of the Senior Citizens Association, it has been decided that at 9:00 am on Friday, December 13 this year, a general meeting of members will be held at the association’s clubhouse to elect the new chairman, vice-chairman and relevant staff. Since the Association for Senior Citizens was founded in 1979, in accordance with the association's purpose of "uniting Chinese senior citizens and enhancing the welfare of members", many volunteers who are enthusiastic about serving everyone have made important contributions to the development of the Association for Senior Citizens. With the care and help of the Overseas Chinese Federation and overseas Chinese, the Senior Citizen Association has built and expanded the Senior Citizen Club, and built two apartments for the elderly, Kangning and Kangle. Organize members to actively participate in various cultural, sports and tourism activities. The well-known overseas Chinese leader Mr. Yu Wenjin has long-term guidance and support for the daily activities of the association, and the permanent consultant Mr. Wu Yingfan provides funding to the association every year. It has more than 1,100 registered members, making it the largest association among overseas Chinese associations in Phoenix. Members of the Senior Citizens Association have become indispensable and important members in the activities of the overseas Chinese community. They are indispensable in every overseas Chinese community activity. The annual general meeting is a major event for the Senior Citizen Association. This election will add new members and inject new vitality into the Senior Citizen Association. We hope that all members will conscientiously exercise their right to vote and elect new staff for 2014. We also hope that members who are willing to serve everyone will actively sign up for the election. Nominations of candidates will be made and announced on the bulletin board of the Senior Citizens Association before December 6. Members who have not paid their dues are asked to pay their dues before the election.
