Local families

[Reported by Phoenix Chinese Christian Church Fengming] At 8 o'clock in the morning on November 16, 2013, when I arrived at the church on time, co-worker volunteers from the Asia Pacific Community Promotion Association and Phoenix Chinese Christian Church were already in place. All the tables and chairs were placed and in order, and many people were already lined up at the reception table. I saw that the co-workers in charge of the reception were all smiling and enthusiastically receiving every guest. Some volunteers were busy helping guests fill out forms, and some volunteers took guests to tables with different inspection items according to their different needs and lined them up in an orderly manner. In front of a row of tables for cholesterol/blood sugar testing, although there are many people, you can still get the number according to the appointment time and in order, sit on the chairs lined up in a row, and wait for the test.

Health examination site

There are many guests participating in the free health examination today. Since Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean translations are provided today, guests who do not understand English can receive timely assistance. This community free medical service provided 100 people with cholesterol/blood sugar tests, 40 people with breast cancer examinations, 300 people with influenza prevention and 100 children over 6 months old, blood pressure tests, hepatitis B tests and other examination items. By 1:00pm, 105 people had received cholesterol/blood sugar tests, 37 people had breast cancer examinations, (they worked until 4:00pm) 75 people had influenza vaccinations, and 73 people had hepatitis B tests. Another 60 people attended the Hepatitis B lecture and the Obamacare lecture. During the symposium, the guests’ questions were answered in detail, and 20 people were assisted to apply for the Obama health care plan that day, and many others were waiting for appointments after the meeting.

The community free medical service jointly organized by the Asia Pacific Community Disciples Association and the Phoenix Chinese Christian Church has come to a successful conclusion. Free services for community groups without health insurance in Asia-Pacific began in 2002 when the Asia-Pacific Community Promotion Association was established. Later, free health examination services were provided twice every spring and winter. Preparations for this free health checkup began in August. The Asia-Pacific Community Promotion Association and the Phoenix Chinese Christian Church cooperated. There were 13 sponsoring organizations, 7 doctors, 14 nurses, and more than 50 volunteers were invited to participate in voluntary services. The vast number of Asian people in Phoenix received huge financial assistance and received praise and praise from everyone. It also received perfect results.
