(Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association Newsletter) The Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association held a meeting on June 12 to elect a new leadership team. Zhang Huafang serves as the chairman. This is the first time in the 26 years since the Chinese Restaurant Association was established that a woman has served as chairman.

The meeting was chaired by former chairman Guan Zhaofeng. The Restaurant Association had previously sent a letter to members to solicit opinions. Some members voted to participate in the election. The meeting combined the on-site voting results and finally selected the new team for 2014.

The meeting recognized the effectiveness of former chairman Guan Zhaofeng's work in the past two years and gave warm applause. The new chairman Zhang Huafang said that he was very grateful to all the directors for their trust and would work hard in the future to bring the affairs of the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association to a higher level. She also made several suggestions at the meeting and hoped that the directors would continue to provide support and encouragement in future work. Everyone sent their best wishes for her election.
