On June 28, Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles Liu Jian and his wife Ms. Chen Xiaoling, Education Counselor Dr. Yuan Dong, and Consul Bai Dongshi visited Phoenix, Arizona, and the Hualian Association of Asia and the Greater Phoenix Chinese Association Nearly a hundred people from dozens of Chinese and overseas Chinese academic groups, including the United Federation of Federation, ASU Confucius Institute, ASU Students and Scholars Association, "Alberta Times", Hope Chinese School, Modern Chinese School, New Oriental Art School, and the Alberta Chinese Doctors Association, attended the event in Mekong Welcome dinner held at the Palace.

In his speech, Consul General Liu Jian reviewed the remarkable achievements of bilateral cooperation over the past 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States, and spoke highly of the important contributions made by various Arizona overseas Chinese academic groups in enhancing mutual understanding between the people of China and the United States, safeguarding and developing the welfare and rights of overseas Chinese, inheriting the culture of the Chinese nation, promoting exchanges and harmony among local ethnic groups, and promoting the economic and cultural development of local communities. He hopes that in future development, everyone will continue to play the role of overseas Chinese leaders, especially in the development between Arizona and China. Taking 2012 as an example, Arizona exported US$1.2 billion to China, and there is still a lot of room for cooperation and development. He also hopes that everyone will continue to care and support China's development. China has now put forward two centenary goals and proposed the Chinese Dream. This is the common goal of all our descendants, but to achieve this goal, we still need hard work. The Consulate General hopes to visit you frequently. I hope you will treat the Consulate General as your home and continue to work together for win-win, mutual benefit and peaceful development between China and the United States.

> Leaders of overseas Chinese academic circles in Alberta delivered speeches to welcome the Consul General and his wife. In his speech, Dr. Wang Weizi, President of the Chinese Federation of Alberta, thanked the ambassador and his wife for taking the time to come to the Phoenix Overseas Chinese Community to visit everyone despite their busy schedules. He also thanked the Consulate General for its continued concern, support and assistance to our overseas Chinese community. He hoped that it could make some contributions to China's development and cultural exchanges in the future.

As Consul General Liu Jian said, the Chinese in Arizona warmly welcomed them with "special warmth". The entire dinner was warm, warm and peaceful. During the banquet, representatives of the Hualian Federation of Alberta shared with Consul General Liu Jian and his delegation the 8th "Phoenix Night" National Celebration and Mid-Autumn Festival series celebrations to be held in September. They discussed plans to further promote educational exchanges with Education Counselor Dr. Yuan Dong. Early in the morning of June 29, Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles Liu Jian and his wife Ms. Chen Xiaoling, Education Counselor Dr. Yuan Dong, and Consul Bai Dongshi made a special trip to Phoenix, ArizonaChinese Senior Citizen Center, visited the people who live there. Afterwards, Consul General Liu Jian and his delegation visited Tucson.
