Children's works are an important part of the annual "Phoenix Night" celebration of China's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival. The Youth Painting and Photography Competition sponsored by the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University has begun. Use your own eyes to see different worlds and record them with brushes and cameras. Some of the works that participated in the competition on September 21 will be exhibited at the "Phoenix Night" event to share the world in your eyes with the audience. Young friends who like painting and photography, please act quickly and follow the competition rules to send in your proud works. The competition deadline is September 5, 2014.

The ASU Confucius Institute announces two artistic contests: 1) Drawing Contest for Grade 1-6 students; 2) Photo Contest for Grade 7-12 students. All winning and outstanding posters and photos will be exhibited at the National Day & Moon Festival Reception which will be held in the Memorial Union Arizona Ballroom at the ASU Tempe Campus on Sunday, September 21, 2014. The pdf files of both contests are attached in this email. Please feel free to contact me at fannie.tam@asu.edu if you have any questions.

Please encourage your students to join these contests. The submission deadline for both contests is Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.
