Shanghai's popular "folk comedian" Cai Galiang performs a talk show in Phoenix City (picture) Alberta Times Cai Galiang, a well-known "folk comedian" from Shanghai, led a five-member band to North America for the first time. He came to Phoenix on the evening of May 14th and 15th and held two performances at Luk Fook Restaurant and Blue Sky Restaurant, with an audience of nearly 400 people. Cai Galliang's unique music talk show performance has opened the eyes of the overseas Chinese in Phoenix. His fluent Mandarin, Shanghainese and salty Cantonese, he sings, performs and speaks, bringing unique joy to the audience. His humorous and intelligent language allows the audience to laugh while experiencing the various flavors of life. Cai Galiang said: Our lives need more laughter and more family affection. Therefore, the main theme of this performance is "Laughing about Life" - "Mom and Me" - the best gift for my mother on Mother's Day this year! "We must love and respect everyone present, and provide stimulation and happiness, and let laughter bring everyone to a beautiful state." Cai Galliang said that this is his principle. What he wants to do is: convey laughter, understand life, cherish friendship, and spread laughter. "Praise filial piety first, laugh at life later" is Cai Galiang's motto. He believes that he puts filial piety first. He said, "I say good night to my mother every day and chat with her about daily life. I pray for my mother's good health every day." I said that we should carry forward the filial piety culture of the Chinese nation. I think my mother is supreme in my mind. While performing, Cai Galiang also went to the audience and shook hands with the mothers present, making the atmosphere joyful, harmonious, warm and touching! Finally, Cai Galiang recited a song "I am proud, I am Chinese". His passionate recitation full of love for the motherland was shocking to the soul. When he repeated "I am proud, I am Chinese", I found that the eyes of many people present, including myself, were blurred with tears... I could not calm down for a long time with excitement. The organizers of Cai Galliang's performance in the United States are: American Shanghai Friendship Association and American Heroes Association. Co-organizers: Southern California Federation of Chinese Associations, American Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai Association. The American Jiangsu Economic, Trade and Cultural Association and the American Green Law Firm.
