Long weekend temperature conditions: Phoenix area gets some rain; heat warning canceled With parts of the Phoenix area getting some rain and temperatures below previously forecast highs, the National Weather Service has canceled its heat warning. The temperature on Friday (9/2/2011) was expected to reach 111 degrees, but in the early morning hours, a moving storm moved north of Mexico across Phoenix, causing temperatures to drop to 105 degrees. The storm will also bring scattered rain in many places on Friday, with 10 per cent possible at other times. The storm will have the biggest impact on Friday's temperatures, but the storm is also expected to drop a few degrees over the weekend. "Temperatures are rebounding, with temperatures as high as 110 degrees tomorrow," said Paul of the National Weather Service. Labor Day is expected to remain sunny with a high temperature of 108 degrees. Next Monday, there is still a 10% to 20% chance of rainfall after 4pm. The low temperature is expected to remain at 88 degrees throughout the holiday weekend. Due to weather conditions, the temperature in Sedona's Mystic Valley will reach 98 degrees on September 4, so the mountaineering and camping activities organized by the Science and Engineering College are temporarily canceled.
