The Governor visited China to attract investment. The Asian and Pacific Islander Advisory Committee of the Governor's Office held its fourth quarter meeting of 2011 on September 6 in the Governor's Office, convened by Chairman Deng Chaoju. The Asian community includes Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Indian, Singaporean and Chinese representatives including Deng Chaoju, Gao Zhizhong, Tao Shicheng and others. Governor Jan Brewer and Bureau of Commerce Directors Fernando Jimenez and Hank Marshall attended. During the meeting, the governor stated that the state government’s policy philosophy is “small government, big economy”. During her tenure, she will make every effort to develop the economy and promote international trade. During the meeting, the governor announced that he would lead a business delegation to China from September 14th to September 24th to conduct investment promotion and trade exchange activities. On behalf of the local Chinese community, Tao Shicheng extended a warm welcome to the governor's visit to China. Currently, China is the state's third largest trading country, second only to Mexico and Canada, and the bilateral trade volume with China is nearly one billion US dollars per year.
