Respecting teachers and respecting moral principles – Student Representative Association’s surprising move Phoenix Chinese School celebrates Teachers’ Day (photo) (reported by Zheng Hong) September 28th is the anniversary of the birth of Confucius and is also Taiwan’s Teachers’ Day. Adhering to the fine tradition of respecting teachers, Phoenix Chinese School Student Representative Association, under the planning of the president Wen Ji'en and the instructor Yang Jianle (Ji'en's mother), gave all the school teachers a warm surprise on the eve of Teacher's Day. After school on September 25, all teachers were invited to the school office to enjoy a variety of exquisite Taiwanese snacks prepared by the "enthusiastic mothers group". Immediately after the introduction by the instructor Yang Jianle and the principal Ms. Cheng Xiuling, the President of the Student Representative Association Wen Ji'en and the cadres of the Student Representative Association presented Teacher's Day blessings to the teachers and thanked the teachers for their dedication to the students and the school. Then, under the operation of Wen’s father, the projector began to show the heart-warming short film that the students from the Generation Association spent more than three weeks filming and editing. The video collects videos of children and parents from each class thanking their teachers. The innocent message coupled with the brisk soundtrack (Jay Chou listened to "Mom") touched everyone. At the end of the broadcast, the Student Representative Association gave each teacher a beautifully wrapped gift, which included a CD containing a short video of thanking the teacher. The children's sincerity and creativity made the teachers spend an unforgettable Teacher's Day. Instructor Yang Jianle said that the Student Representative Association spent two Sundays, each person was responsible for recording two classes of students, and then found the photos of the teachers in class from the photo archives of the Chinese school, and then arranged, scored, edited and other work. Although it took a lot of time to make this DVD, they were very happy to do something for the teachers to thank the teachers for their dedication to all students. The Generation Association was able to produce such a heartwarming and touching DVD because of the cooperation of parents and students throughout the school.
