The English version of China News Weekly (News China) recently held a reception for its third anniversary at the San Gabriel Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Consul General Qiu Shaofang of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles, Chinese-American Congressman Zhao Meixin, China News Service’s U.S. Bureau Chief Wang Xiaohui, weekly CEO Teng Shaojun, as well as some elected officials and nearly 200 guests from all walks of life attended the reception that night. In his speech, Wang Xiaohui, president of the US branch of China News Service, said that the Chinese version of China News Weekly, which is affiliated to China News Service, ranked first in the 2011 Chinese periodical rankings. The English version has circulated more than 80,000 copies since it was launched in North America in 2008. Readers are in 50 states in the United States, and global readers are in 13 countries and regions on four continents. This year, the sales of the weekly have doubled, and the subscribers have quadrupled. Following the English version, the weekly has launched Japanese versions, and South Korea. Chinese version, Italian version and South Asian version. In the three years since the publication of the weekly in the United States and Canada, it has become a must-read and collected publication for American think tanks, experts on China and major American libraries. Consul General Qiu Shaofang of the Chinese Consulate expressed congratulations on the third anniversary of the publication of the weekly. He said that the English version of Newsweek has been widely praised by mainstream readers in the United States, with an increasing number of subscribers and a growing circulation, and has served as a bridge between Chinese and American cultures. , allowing American friends and overseas Chinese to truly understand the tremendous changes that have taken place in China over the past 30 years of opening up.
