(Contributed by Yu Jiangying of the Kaiping Association of Alberta, USA) The Kaiping Association of Kaiping, Alberta, USA was established on April 1, 2011. In the past year, the association has organized two large-scale evening parties, with an unexpectedly large number of participants. It has a certain influence in the overseas Chinese community and has received many praises. This year is a good day to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. I firmly believe that our Spring Festival Gala will be more exciting than last year. At present, all the directors are full of confidence and devote themselves wholeheartedly to the welfare work of the Kaiping Association. They work hard to award scholarships to outstanding children of members, continue to steadily absorb a large number of new members, and push the membership craze to a new peak. The association is scheduled to hold a Spring Festival party at the Fenni Chinese Senior Center at noon on April 1 this year. The horn is blown, everyone is united, and the response is enthusiastic. So far, a total of eight roast pigs have been sponsored. The eight roast pigs were donated by honorary president Guan Zongren, Hu Shoubai, president Zhen Shuoqin, two vice presidents Guan Zhaofeng, Situ Rixian, three board members Guan Huang Ruyi, Wang Wei Wangting, Meisha Kaiping Sister City Committee Chairman Huang Zhijie and others.
