Submissions from Phoenix Chinese School On April 1, Phoenix Chinese School held two singing and drama performances for students from preschool to fourth grade. Teachers and parents of each class worked together and brainstormed, using just a few weeks of classroom practice, so that students could proudly perform on stage in Chinese. The venue was decorated by Zhu Jiayao, a ninth-grade student, who spent eight hours of her spare time painting a huge spring background for the performance venue. The school would like to thank her for bringing a refreshing atmosphere to the venue. The first session is 1:40-2:30PM, with singing and reading performances by students from preschool, basic and conversation classes. Although these children are young, they are not stage frightened at all and they perform and sing at the same time. Next, in the second session from 2:40-3:30PM, each class from grade one to grade four will perform drama, sing and read aloud. This group of young and old friends not only worked hard to memorize lines or lyrics, but it can also be seen that a lot of effort was put into preparing props. In the drama performances of "Silly Goose Skin" and "Twelve Zodiac Signs", you can see the teacher's careful planning and the unique costumes and props made by the students and parents. In this singing and drama performance, every class won applause for their wonderful performance. I believe it will be an unforgettable experience for every student who participated in the performance. What's even more rare is that during the performance, Director Gao Jiafu of the Orange County Overseas Chinese Education Service Center came to visit and brought Easter candies to the children, which was a great encouragement to teachers and students.
