Jiangsu Province (Nanjing) Summer Camp Recruits Overseas Chinese Teenagers China Chinese Education Foundation 2012 Overseas Chinese Teenagers Nanjing Cultural Tour - Jinhui Summer Camp [Newsletter from the National Association of Chinese Schools] This summer, the China Chinese Education Foundation will hold a summer camp for overseas Chinese teenagers in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The National Association of Chinese Schools organized registration activities for Chinese teenagers across the United States for this Jiangsu summer camp. The National Association of Chinese Schools has issued a notice to all member schools that the deadline for submitting electronic registration forms is April 30. Several Chinese schools in the state have forwarded notices to parents. Currently, the association has received emails from parents of some Chinese schools to apply for registration for their children. The summer camp will last for nine days from July 29th to August 6th. The main content of the activity is to learn traditional Chinese culture (Chinese songs, paper-cutting, Chinese knots, calligraphy, Chinese martial arts, etc.). All courses are taught by excellent professional teachers. Some teachers have published relevant professional books and received high praise during their teaching tours in Southeast Asia. During their stay in Nanjing, campers will also visit Jiangsu scenic spots and experience local life. Jiangsu is a major economic, cultural and educational province, and Nanjing is a famous historical and cultural city. Jiangsu Summer Camp will take advantage of the various advantages of Jiangsu Province to organize a series of unique activities for overseas Chinese teenagers. The campers’ food, accommodation and travel expenses during the summer camp are sponsored by the China Chinese Education Foundation. You are responsible for the round-trip travel expenses from your country of residence to Nanjing. Campers need to pay a registration fee of $120. The requirements for campers are overseas Chinese teenagers between the ages of 12 and 8 who have good conduct, are studious and motivated, are in good health, have a certain foundation in Chinese and have strong self-care abilities. Due to limited places, the association adopts the principle of "first come first served". Schools or parents who are interested in participating in this event are asked to register by email to Shuai Zhiruo, Vice President of the National Association of Chinese Schools, before April 30: maryshuai99@yahoo.com. Parents who need electronic registration forms, please also send an email to the above email address. After receiving the electronic registration form, the association manager will reply to confirm and notify the Chinese school and parents to remit the written form and registration check that require signatures. The mailing address will be notified separately. The association accepts collective registration from all schools. Schools or regions with more than 10 registrations can be assigned a team leader, who will be a school administrator or teacher recommended by each school. The National Association of Chinese Schools will provide certain travel subsidies to the team leaders.
