(Reported by Alberta Times reporter Zhen Songwei in Monterey Park City) On August 12, the Luo Zhen Family Office organized an outdoor barbecue event for the Zhen family members at Garvey Ranch Park in Monterey Park. The sun was shining brightly that day, and the hot weather was as high as the enthusiasm of the clan members. At 10 a.m., more than a dozen clan members including the current chairman of the Zhen Family Office, Zhen Datang, the previous chairman Zhen Jiwen (Jimmy Gin), and Alhambra Unified School District Education Committee member Zhen Mingxin (Robert L. Gin), had already arrived at the scene to prepare the venue and supplies for the picnic and barbecue. Then, the clan members arrived one after another in twos and threes, supporting the elderly and the young. Everyone was in high spirits, chatting and laughing, and talking to each other about their daily lives. The scene was very warm and lively. Mr. Zhen De, who has immigrated to the United States for nearly 30 years, specially brought his son who was born in the United States and has already attended middle school to come here, so that his descendants will not forget their roots, let him listen to the local accent here, and get to know his uncles in a foreign country. Zhen Jiwen, who was appointed as the chairman of the Zhen Family Office, took the initiative to learn about the study and school conditions of this descendant of the Zhen family, and communicated with him his decades of experience in living in the United States. Zhen Xiucheng, who had just immigrated to the United States, also came with his two sons, allowing them to get to know our Zhen family members in a foreign country, listen to their stories about living and working in the United States, and learn how to be a human being. The Zhen Family Office in Luo Province has gone out many times to hold outdoor picnics and gatherings. Each time it has been a success, and the clan members are very accepting of this leisurely and comfortable outdoor activity. Zhen's Office has decided to hold a Mid-Autumn Festival party in Los Angeles Chinatown on September 23, and has tentatively scheduled to hold a Spring Festival Gala at the Ocean Restaurant on March 9 next year.
