>Contributed by the Chinese Language College of Alberta and the Chung Hwa College The Chinese Language Institute of Alberta and Chung Hwa College jointly held a large-scale international cultural festival event organized by the city of Peoria to promote international multicultural exchanges on December 8. The event attracted more than 4,000 people. It was a joyful holiday cultural exchange event suitable for all ages. This event is in its fourth anniversary and is held every year during the December festival. On the one hand, it celebrates Christmas and welcomes the New Year. On the other hand, it introduces cultures and folk customs from all over the world, and conducts multicultural observation, learning, and exchanges with the public. Every year, it is participated, loved, and supported by many families. In addition to personally experiencing and viewing the culture, talents, and performances of various countries, each guest can also enjoy various customs and activities of the festival, and take photos with Santa Claus. The Chinese Language Institute of Alberta and the Chung Hwa College have provided free and voluntary guidance to thousands of children and adults in making Taiwanese windmill toys, lucky lanterns, on-site calligraphy to write names and auspicious phrases, and bell-ringing teaching and demonstrations. They have been welcomed and loved by everyone, and there are long queues. They have successfully integrated into the mainstream and jointly spread Chinese culture and folk art with the mainstream. The Chinese Language Institute of Alberta and Chung Hwa College, led by Principal Li Ling-lin, their families and volunteers, have participated in and supported the Peoria International Cultural Festival every year since the inception of the International Cultural Festival. During the activities, they introduced Chinese culture and folk art, enhanced international friendship, strengthened people-to-people diplomacy, promoted Taipei’s sister city, and promoted multicultural exchanges around the world. Many thanks to young volunteers Qiu Wenqi, Qiu Wenshun, Chen Jiesheng, Wang Baoyi, and Adam for their assistance and support. Everyone worked together to make the event a complete success.
