It snowed heavily in the northern Arizona city of Flagstaff early this morning (Wednesday). Half an inch of rain fell in the northwest, closing part of Route 60. Due to heavy snow pressure, the Department of Transportation has closed the Superior to Miami section until noon. Golf tournaments in Tucson were also postponed. By around 2 p.m., heavy hail fell in central Phoenix, affecting Highway 17 south of Camelback. According to CBS 5, temperatures on Wednesday dropped nearly 20 degrees Fahrenheit from Tuesday. Safety Advisory: Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Cochise, Greenlee and Graham in southern Arizona will experience heavy snowfall starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Department of Transportation says drivers in Northeast Arizona should be prepared to drive in rain and snow.
