(Contributed by Hualian of Alberta) The Hualian Association of Alberta held its annual general meeting on May 19, 2013 at the Sunset Library in Chengde. The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Li Jian. First of all, President Fei Jian reported to members and participants the work done and achievements achieved in the past year. At the same time, on behalf of the Hualian Federation of Alberta, he expressed his sincere gratitude to every volunteer, overseas Chinese groups, local newspapers, media and friends who have made selfless contributions to various tasks. Express my heartfelt thanks. Zhao Yixian, who is in charge of finance, made a financial report to everyone. On behalf of the Hualian Federation of Asia, Liao Feng introduced the revised and supplementary draft of the charter of the Hualian Federation of Alberta to the members; the participating members discussed it carefully and voted on it. Next, the general election of the board of directors was held among the three scrutineers Wang Xinxin, Hu Xiaojiang, and Jim Chou. Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, a new board of directors was elected. The board of directors consists of nine members, namely: Dong Bin, Fei Jian, Li Guangxuan, Li Jian, Liao Feng, Qu Ning, Tao Shicheng, Wang Weizi, and Zhao Yixian. This election of the board of directors and the amendment and addition of the articles of association are operated and carried out in accordance with the principles of democracy, openness, fairness, justice, and transparency, marking the further maturity of the Hualian Province. After being recommended by the new board of directors and unanimously approved by the members, Wang Weizi was elected as the new president of the Chinese Federation of Asia. Wang Weizi sincerely hopes that all Chinese overseas groups and friends from all walks of life will provide strong support in future work, and welcomes more friends to join the team of the Chinese Federation of Asia.
