Fengcheng Chinese Christian Church Student Center

Phoenix City Fengming Report] At 1:30 pm on July 21st, a thanksgiving worship and dedication ceremony was held at the newly purchased and renovated teaching and student center of Fengcheng Chinese Christian Church. The students and the brothers and sisters from the church who came to congratulate me gathered together to celebrate the dedication of the church. Being with young people is different. The atmosphere in the venue is cheerful and positive, full of the vitality of young people.

In this joyful celebration, everyone had a proud smile on their face, and the laughter covered the entire audience. The speaker's humorous words frequently made the audience laugh. The message Pastor Yang preached today: "Living Water Jianghe" brought the audience into confidence, self-improvement, and pride. Today I moved into the brand-new student center. Together with everyone, I looked back at the 45 years of arduous history the student center has gone through. The student Bible study ministry started on the ASU campus in 1968 and has continued uninterrupted for 45 years. Currently, there are English and Chinese student fellowships in the student center. They are led by intern preachers Lin Shengzhi and Lin Haiqin respectively, and are coordinated by Deacon Zheng Shenglin. They all meet in the student center, which is quite a new atmosphere. Judging from the history of the development of this ministry, it can be called the ministry of living water and rivers. Although the people who serve in the ministry change one after another every year, the ministry has a long history. Pastor Yang quoted the Bible Acts 13:1-3 in his preaching message, "In the church at Antioch, there were certain prophets and teachers, namely Barnabas and Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who was raised by Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." "So he fasted and prayed, laid his hands on their heads, and sent them away." The church in Antioch is a church with rivers of living water. Therefore, we must turn the student center into a ministry of living water.

In order to turn the student-centered ministry into the ministry of Living Water Rivers, first of all, the ministry of Living Water Rivers is the ministry of the kingdom. All co-workers involved in student ministry must have the concept of the kingdom. Although Everyone will eventually leave after graduation. If we have the concept of the kingdom and know that what we do is not in vain, but is to reserve talents for the kingdom of God, our hearts will be filled with joy. Therefore, we must obey the leadership of the Holy Spirit and be good stewards of God’s various gifts. Secondly, the ministry of Living Water River is also a team ministry. Pastor Yang said: He has a dream, and there are too many examples. My own children also told me that when Chinese children go to college, most of them choose to go to Korean college student worship gatherings, and rarely choose to go to Chinese college student worship gatherings. I dream that student worship in our student center will be different. In the future, whether Chinese worship or English worship, our next generation will be attracted to participate. Not only our next generation, but also college students who speak Chinese and English will want to participate. We have such good resources and equipment. The Chinese Student Fellowship and the English Student Fellowship must be flexibly matched to encourage everyone to participate. Third, the ministry of rivers of living water is also a ministry of discipleship. Students study in school for as long as seven years or as short as one year before graduating. Due to the high mobility of students, our serving co-workers must have a sense of crisis and must seize the time to train new believers every year and make them disciples. Therefore, our ministry focuses on evangelism in the fall (the season when new students arrive) and on discipleship in the spring (before new students arrive). In short, we must seize the time to prepare future co-workers.

In this new student center, everything is new, even it smells new. I hope that the co-workers will take good care of it and, most importantly, use it as much as possible in order to spread the gospel to the surrounding students and build the student believers into disciples of Jesus Christ. Student ministry is a ministry entrusted to the church by God, and the student center is an inheritance entrusted to the church by God. Now, since God has opened the door to the gospel widely and provided abundant resources, let us be faithful and faithful, build the student ministry into a river of living water, lead the students into salvation, and cultivate talents for the kingdom of God, so that God can gain all the glory!

After the celebration, there were sumptuous refreshments and fruits. The congregants talked and praised enthusiastically. God’s power has accomplished such beautiful things. Everyone has the confidence to turn the student center into a river of living water that pleases God, allowing more students to know God and gain God’s truth and God’s love. Amen!
