This year, more than 120 students signed up to participate. After elimination in the preliminary rounds, a total of 64 contestants from each group entered the finals that day.
Received Prizes Gao Jiafu, director of the Orange County Overseas Chinese Cultural and Educational Service Center, affirmed and praised the significance of Xinxin Chinese School for hosting this event. He also praised the efforts of the participating children to increase their interest in learning Chinese culture through reciting classics. Sun Aiyun, principal of Xinxin Chinese School, said that Chinese culture is extensive and profound, and there are many classics handed down from ancient times, all of which are worthy of learning by modern children. In the past few years, the school has organized recitation activities with different classic contents every summer. It is hoped that students will have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture through participating in the activities. This year, the "Three Character Classic" was selected, hoping that the children can incorporate the recitation into their daily lives. Vice Principal Xu Ling pointed out that most of the students in Orange County who signed up for the competition this year are Vietnamese-Chinese, or have one parent who is American, and they are all children born in the United States. Those who signed up include students from the Kaide Cultural and Educational Foundation, Chuanfu Chinese School, Xinxin Chinese School and individual participants. The competition is divided into five groups: infantile group, elementary school, elementary, intermediate and advanced. The contestants are all very good, and the competition can be said to be quite fierce. The winner and the top three will be selected. This year's prizes are very special. All children who enter the finals will receive prizes provided by the school. The first, second and third place will also receive bonuses.
