The golden autumn months of September and October are the busiest seasons for the Chinese community in Arizona. Activities from all walks of life in the Chinese community to celebrate National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival will be held at this time. Among the many celebration activities, the National Day-Mid-Autumn Festival "Phoenix Night" series of activities is particularly worth looking forward to and participating in.
"Phoenix Night" is co-sponsored by the Chinese Federation of Alberta (UCAA) and the ASU Confucius Institute. It is open to the public and free of charge. Due to its rich activity content, distinctive characteristics of the times, and large number of participants, it has received the most extensive support and participation from the community. The entire event was co-sponsored by many important local Chinese associations in Arizona, including the Greater Phoenix Chinese Overseas Chinese Association, Arizona State University Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Alberta Modern Chinese School, Alberta Hope Chinese School, and Chinese associations such as the "Alberta Times" newspaper. This will be a grand gathering of Chinese from all walks of life in Arizona.
"Phoenix Night" this year is already the seventh. As with previous years' tradition, this year, the Alberta Hualien will continue to co-host the Sino-US Cultural Forum with the theme of "Aspects of Sino-US Cooperation" with the ASU Confucius Institute. At that time, members of the U.S. Congress, the president of Honeywell's Asia-Pacific region, and Intel Chinese stars with the same background as us will be invited to give keynote speeches. Speakers will share with the audience their understanding of the Chinese market, experience in doing business with China, etc.
The National Day reception will be held after the Sino-US Cultural Forum. Representatives from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles will attend and deliver a congratulatory message. The youth poster competition and photography competition with the theme of "China in My Eyes" are also part of the annual "Phoenix Night". An award ceremony for the winning works will be held on site, and the winning works will be displayed at one end of the venue early. At the reception, friends will also enjoy wonderful cultural performances by local artists.
It is particularly worth mentioning that the Alberta Hualian will provide a simple dinner for friends, which will be arranged after the reception and before the dance. Dinner will include fruits, vegetable salads, meat and fish sandwiches, snacks, drinks, etc. Friends can chat while eating, which is a good time to reminisce about old times, make new acquaintances, and expand interpersonal relationships.
The Mid-Autumn Festival Dance will be held after the dinner. Like the dinner, this is also a good time for everyone to make friends. The annual dance is attended by a large number of friends who love ballroom dancing.
This year’s National Day-Mid-Autumn Festival “Phoenix Night” will be held on Sunday, September 22nd. The specific event schedule is as follows:
