(Contributed by Zhang Zhaohong) October 31st is Halloween. We, a group of 12 people from Longgang Friendship Office in Phoenix City, USA, took a flight to Houston, Texas to attend the 65th Anniversary Celebration of the Longgang Friendship Office of America and the 20th Annual General Assembly.

However, a storm swept across many areas of the United States, from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. Heavy rains overnight caused flash floods in many areas of Texas without warning, and river levels rose. Reports said that a man and his girlfriend climbed into a tree for four hours and had to wait until a helicopter arrived for rescue; a Baptist church originally hoped to attract students to participate in autumn celebrations on the evening of the 31st. But the church was covered in mud and the seats were soaked with water. The believers came to clean the church, not to celebrate Halloween. In Houston, due to heavy rain and flooding in many places, the "Candy Night" that children were looking forward to on Halloween could only come to nothing. It is said that because of this violent storm, many regions across the United States postponed the long-prepared Halloween by one night for the first time, so that people and ghosts can have a good holiday.

> The 20th Annual Friendship Conference was held for four consecutive days from October 31st to November 3rd in Houston, an important town in the southern United States. It was hosted by the Houston Longgang Friendship Office. Representatives, elders, friends and family members from all over the United States came together. The Longgang Office of Peru in South America also sent representatives to participate. Due to weather conditions, many flights at airports across the United States have been rescheduled. People say that "noble people go out to attract wind and rain", but this is not a good thing. Friends from the Houston Longgang Office came to pick up the airport. It would be good if the bus carrying 50 people could pick up half of the guests. Liu Xiumei, Vice Chairman of the World Longgang Friendship Federation and the American Longgang Friendship General Office, also came to the airport to pick up the plane. Longgang members and friends of Longgang waited from morning to late at night, not afraid of wind, rain, fatigue, or neglecting the Longgang Friendship from all over the country.

Houston Longgang Qinyi Office Chairman Zhao Dayu and Secretary General Zhao Waner, as well as Guan Zihong, Guan Shiyi, Zhang Jinjuan, Jin Junjia, Guan Yujun, Guan Yubin and other team members have been waiting for this day for three years. Today, in the auditorium of the Marriott Hotel, they decorated the giant portraits of the four ancestors specially customized from China, and arranged the flowers, ribbons, and benches properly, making the atmosphere of the conference venue generous and decent, solemn but also warm. Houston Longgang Shiyi also placed various documents, briefcases, commemorative handbags, Longgang T-shirts and gifts, etc., one by one according to the group, and methodically completed the registration procedures and document distribution work to the members of the offices from various places who came to report. Secretary-General Zhao Waner's ability and Guan Zihong's conscientiousness left a deep impression on people.

In the following time, whether it was meetings, group photos, banquets, transportation, travel, etc., the members of the Houston Longgang Qinyi Office arranged the itinerary properly, making people feel at ease and assured. Even after the convention, a large group of cruise tourists returned to Houston, and buses were sent to the pier to pick up and drop off passengers to the airport. World Federation Vice Chairman Liu Xiumei, Houston Longgang Vice Chairman Liu Zhiheng, etc. also personally delivered food and bottles of water to every Shiyi person. All of this made everyone very heartwarming.

Houston is an important town in the southern United States. It is of great significance that the American Dragon Boat Festival Friendship Association General Assembly is held here. Doing a good job in external publicity is a very important task. In addition to doing its job well and allowing local public opinion to widely publicize the report, the Houston Longgang Office also took the initiative to hold press conferences. Zhao Dayu introduced the origins of the Qinqin Congress: "Longgang is an organization for later generations where the four clansmen of Liu, Guan, Zhang and Zhao are closely united, helping each other, and sharing weal and woe. We strictly follow the instructions of our ancestors: "Encourage them, encourage them, do not do evil for small things, do not do good for small things, only be virtuous and virtuous, and you can convince others." Liu Xiumei briefly introduced to everyone the special report of Supervisor Guan Zonglu of the Pan American Lung Kong Tin Yee Association: Currently, there are 22 branches of the Pan American Lung Kong Tin Yee Association. This year marks the 65th anniversary and the convening of the 20th Qinqin Conference. The Longgang Association of America was founded in 1948. It has gone through 19 annual meetings and elected staff to be responsible for the affairs of the association. It has been passed down from generation to generation for 65 years. It has worked diligently and made outstanding achievements, including the most outstanding ones, such as:

(1) Founding of Longgang Quarterly , from the spring issue of 1956 to the spring issue of 2013, there are 229 issues. It is published regularly three times a year, divided into spring, summer, autumn and winter. It reports on the history of sages, activities of local offices, the dynamics of people with four surnames, common sense of life, health and wellness, poetry and literature, with rich content, including front and back covers and photos. In recent years, color printing has been adopted, and a webpage was launched in 2003 to speed up information communication.

(2) Raised funds: In 1971, a property was purchased in Luo Province, and the income was used to subsidize the Longgang Quarterly and provide administrative expenses for the Americas Headquarters, as well as a subsidy for each family meeting. In 2012, another high-income property was purchased in Luo Province.

(3) Promoting the establishment of Longgang organizations in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Europe, and Malaysia, all of which have been completed.

(4) Promote the establishment of the World Longgang Friendship Association. It was established in Hong Kong in 1960 and moved to Taiwan in 1968. There are currently more than 130 Longgang groups around the world.

(5) The General Office of the Americas has held 19 pro-love conferences in various parts of the Americas. At each conference, representatives from all local offices attended, with more than 200 people including their families each time, and the conference lasted 3-5 days. , the funds required are quite huge, but thanks to the joint efforts of all the organizers, all the local offices and Shiyi donated enthusiastically, and the achievements are remarkable. Every conference has a surplus, and the remaining funds will partially subsidize the offices with poor finances. It is of great significance to help each other's needs, profound friendship, and great significance. The American Dragon Head Office and the World Dragon Federation have become the hub of Dragon organizations around the world. Their leaders are the helmsmen who lead the way.
