(Contributed by Arizona Hope Chinese School) In order to improve the level of Chinese teaching, the China Overseas Exchange Association has gradually established a trinity of "training, assessment, and certification" Chinese teacher training mechanisms. This year, it dispatched three "overseas Chinese education expert tour groups" to a total of 15 regions across the United States to hold Chinese teacher training activities. The National Association of Chinese Schools undertook the training activities of the tour group in the United States

On Sunday, August 24, 2014, four education experts selected by the China Overseas Exchange Association visited the Phoenix area and held training lectures for Chinese teachers from 7 local Chinese schools and people who are enthusiastic about Chinese teaching. A total of more than 80 Chinese teachers and enthusiasts attended the lecture.

Hope Chinese School, Modern Chinese School, Phoenix Chinese Christian Church Chinese School, Feinian Chinese School, etc. undertook this teacher training event in Phoenix. Early that morning, the beautiful MCC campus was still immersed in the quietness of the weekend, and teachers participating in the training had already arrived at the venue one after another. The organizer prepared exquisite and rich desserts for all the teachers, so that everyone could devote themselves to the lectures with full energy.

> Ms. Shuai Zhiruo, President of the National Association of Chinese Schools, first introduced to everyone the members of the lecturer group of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. They are: Mr. Xie Guoqiao, leader of the China Overseas Exchange Association, Dr. Sui Yan, associate professor of Beijing Language and Culture University, Dr. Cheng Long, associate professor of Beijing Language and Culture University, and Zhang Yingchun, senior teacher of Beijing Cuiwei Primary School. Then he explained to everyone the reception and organizational mobilization work done by the organizing committee established by the heads of several local member schools for this training event, and introduced the chairman of the organizing committee, Chairman Zhou Qing, and the five co-chairmen: Chairman Zhu Yan, Principal Tian Shaowei, Principal Tian Lin, Principal Shen Meijing, Principal Cui Zengqi, and Principal Liu Fengxia of Mencius Chinese School, etc.

Next, Zhang Yingchun, a primary school teacher from Haidian District, Beijing, explained to everyone the characteristics and experience of primary school Chinese teaching. She introduced many distinctive classroom teaching designs that are in line with children's psychological development, as well as literacy methods and reading methods that are easier for lower grade students to accept, so as to stimulate students' interest in learning and improve learning outcomes.

Later, Teacher Sui from Beijing Language and Culture University explained to everyone the understanding of words in Chinese teaching and their accurate application. Teacher Sui's profound writing skills and humorous explanations made the teachers burst into laughter from time to time. Regarding the different understandings of some words, the local Chinese teachers present also had a lively discussion with Teacher Sui.

Finally, Dr. Cheng Long, associate professor of Beijing Language and Culture University, explained the significant impact of different cultures on Chinese education. Teacher Cheng's speech, which quoted from classics and classics, made the teachers intoxicated. In order to explain more to the local teachers, he proposed that he should continue the lecture and let the teachers in the audience eat first. So, in the end, the teachers in the audience were enjoying the rich lunch while listening to Teacher Cheng's lectures with relish. It was really a double enjoyment of spirit and food.

After lunch, Teacher Cheng’s lecture was coming to an end. But the lecture did not end there. The local Chinese teachers raised their own questions to the three teachers. The teachers gave wonderful answers one by one, which caused heated discussions among everyone from time to time. In a warm atmosphere, this "Lecture Tour" Chinese teacher training lecture ended successfully.
