(Contributed by New Oriental Art School and reported by Qiuxiang) In the just past "Golden Autumn" Chinese Dance Festival Gala, the program of poetry recitation with music was well received by the audience. This is the only language program in the whole party, interspersed with the dances all over the place, looking fresh, elegant and refreshing. Two pairs of boys and girls recited "When will the bright moon come out" in a beautiful guzheng song "Fishing Boat Sings Evening". This Song poem was written by the famous poet Su Shi and is the most famous chapter about the Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinese classical poetry. The children's recitation was cadenced and full of passion. A music professor from ASU commented, "Poems and music are perfectly connected, and the recitation ends with the climax of the music, which is perfect." Some parents also said with emotion, "This is a very good program that breaks the tradition of only singing and dancing, and also allows parents to realize that our children can also recite Tang poetry and Song lyrics fluently."
