The County Health Bureau and the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association recently held a working meeting. The new Director of Health, Andy Linton, led ten senior administrative district directors and special commissioner Wang Lijing to attend. Eleven people including Zhang Huafang, chairman of the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association, board members and restaurant industry representatives attended the meeting. At the meeting, the Director of Health talked about the future sanitation inspection and management methods. The sanitation inspection will be adjusted. For example, in the past, the restaurant sanitation work was the responsibility of the owner. In the future, it can be handled by the designated sanitation manager, who will correct the mistakes of employees. Also, in the past, if a restaurant failed to pass the health inspection, it would be given a negative rating immediately, and it would even be reported in the newspaper and on TV. In the future, the restaurant would be given three days to make corrections. In addition, restaurants can also ask the Health Bureau to send personnel to teach classes at member restaurants. Various issues related to this were discussed at the meeting. Chinese restaurants will attend the symposium including Chairman Zhang Huafang, board members Yang Zhengang, Lu Shaoming, Gao Zhizhong, Li Jiayi, Guan Zhaofeng, Wu Yizhao, Zhang Zhaohong, Ren Dahong, etc. Restaurant representatives include Tony tang, Andy Wong, Tony diep, etc. The new hygiene management methods will be forwarded to restaurant members in Chinese and English documents by the Health Bureau in the future.
