(Contributed by Alberta Hualian) On June 28, the Chinese Federation of Alberta (UCAA) held the first preparatory meeting for the 9th "Phoenix Night" series of celebrations to celebrate the National Celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival. President Li Jian reviewed the annual "Phoenix Night" celebrations for the Mid-Autumn Festival in the past eight years. The celebrations over the years have received strong support from the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles. The head of the consulate made a special trip from Los Angeles to spend the "Phoenix Night" with Chinese people in Alberta. Politicians at all levels in the United States also enthusiastically participated; a large number of companies, business institutions, academic institutions and Scholars, professors, and senior managers from other groups gave speeches at the "Phoenix Night" Sino-US Forum; people from all walks of life and ethnic groups responded enthusiastically to the "Phoenix Night", which has become a widely praised annual tradition in Arizona.
